When to use

You need an auditable Sri Lanka working-day count.

Do not use when: This is a combined official holiday-class calendar, not a universal private-employer closure rule. Public, bank and mercantile classifications remain in each event kind; the March 18, March 25 and April 1 fuel-conservation entries apply to government offices only and the schedule was cancelled effective April 8. Essential services, schools, private employers, sector agreements, local arrangements and later unlisted notices are not inferred. The additional day after the National Vesak Festival is not invented beyond the published May 2 calendar entry.

Does a public holiday guarantee that every private employer closes?

No. Public, bank and mercantile classifications are returned as source evidence; private-employer, sector and local closure rules are not inferred.

Are the Wednesday fuel-conservation holidays still open-ended?

No. Only March 18, March 25 and April 1 are represented; the official cancellation made Wednesdays normal government-office working days from April 8, 2026.
