When to use

You need an auditable Ghana working-day count.

Do not use when: This package covers the nationwide statutory/public-holiday layer only. It is not a universal private-employer, bank, exchange, school, local, sector or essential-service calendar. The 2026 package uses observed dates published or cross-checked for 2026; lunar dates and later Executive Instruments may change. It does not treat the pre-Act-1142 4 August Founder’s Day or 2025-era September naming as current law, and it does not infer additional closure days from the legal anchors alone.

FAQ

Is 7 January itself returned as a non-working day in 2026?

The pinned nationwide observed-date layer returns 9 January as the substituted public holiday because the Ministry notice moved the 7 January Constitution Day observance. The legal anchor is preserved in the event evidence; employer or institution calendars that retain both dates are outside this package.

Does this include every Ghanaian employer or bank?

No. It is a nationwide statutory/public-holiday layer. Private-employer, bank, exchange, school, local and sector calendars require their own authority and are not inferred.

Why is 4 August not in the 2026 list?

Act 1142 changed the statutory arrangement: 21 September is Founder’s Day and the pre-amendment 4 August Founder’s Day is not carried into this 2026 package.
