Australia State/Territory Public-Holiday Working Day

Checks an Australian date for a required state or territory using the Fair Work Ombudsman 2026-2027 public-holiday tables and explicit scope limitations.

When to use

You need a state/territory-wide Australian public-holiday result.

Do not use when: You do not know the state/territory, or you need a local council, regional, employer, exchange or industry calendar.

Example user requests

Formula

is_working_day = CLDR AU weekend baseline and no state/territory-wide full-day public holiday

Resolve the required division, apply official full-day dates, and surface limited/part-day events separately without treating them as full-day closure.

FAQ

Can I omit the division?

No. Australian public holidays differ by state and territory.

Are regional holidays included?

They are returned as limited_or_part_day_events when present, but do not close the whole division by default.
