Checks a date against the Saturday-Sunday weekend baseline and exact 2026-2026 authority events.

**Use when:** You need a deterministic Sri Lanka Sri Lanka 2026 public, bank, mercantile and full-moon Poya holiday calendar, plus dated temporary government-office closures result.

**Do not use when:** This is a combined official holiday-class calendar, not a universal private-employer closure rule. Public, bank and mercantile classifications remain in each event kind; the March 18, March 25 and April 1 fuel-conservation entries apply to government offices only and the schedule was cancelled effective April 8. Essential services, schools, private employers, sector agreements, local arrangements and later unlisted notices are not inferred. The additional day after the National Vesak Festival is not invented beyond the published May 2 calendar entry.
