Adds or subtracts Latvia authority-scope working days in exact coverage. Explicit transfer basis and mon_fri_planning required. Separate statutory rest, non-rest observances, transferred work/rest and conditional shortening.

**Use when:** You need a deterministic Latvia working-day offset.

**Do not use when:** Latvia 2026 only. Explicit calendar_basis and work_schedule=mon_fri_planning are required. The transfer basis applies Cabinet Order 330 only when the organization is covered or has adopted it; no private employer adoption is inferred. Section 2 observances do not add rest. Shortening is conditional, not full-day rest. Six-day/shift/personal rosters, other religious calendars, bank/exchange/school opening, payroll, actual hours and legal deadlines are not computed.

## FAQ

**Which basis must I choose?**

Ask whether Cabinet Order 330 applies or was adopted. statutory_holidays_only excludes its two transfers; cabinet_order_330_transfers includes them. Other employers are recommended, not universally required, to adopt the order.

**Are all named observances days off?**

No. Section 1 holidays differ from section 2 commemorations. Mother's Day and Pentecost are section 1 holidays; Teachers' Day on October 5 is a section 2 observance.

**Does a shortened date count as half a day?**

No. It remains one working date in day arithmetic. The one-hour rule is conditional on normal working time and agreements; actual hours, payroll and personal entitlement are not computed.

**Are Sunday holidays replaced on Monday?**

Not generally. The law limits substitution to May 4, November 18 and a qualifying General Song/Dance Festival closing day. No such replacement is triggered in 2026.
