## Purpose

Counts authority-scope working and non-working dates in a range.

**Use when:** You need an auditable Kenya working-day count.

**Do not use when:** This package covers the nationwide public-holiday layer only. It is not a universal private-employer, bank, school, county, sector, diplomatic or shift-work calendar. The Saturday-Sunday baseline is a calculation convention for ordinary weekday work, not a claim that every employer uses the same roster. Idd-ul-Fitr and Idd-ul-Adha are pinned to the 2026 Gazette declarations; future lunar dates and later special notices require a refreshed package. The Act's Sunday substitution rule is preserved and no Saturday-to-Monday substitution is inferred.

## FAQ

**Does this include a Monday substitute for Saturday holidays?**

No. The Public Holidays Act expressly addresses a holiday falling on Sunday; it does not establish a blanket Saturday-to-Monday rule. The package includes only dates supported by the Act or a specific 2026 Gazette notice.

**Does this answer every Kenyan employer or county?**

No. It is the nationwide public-holiday layer over a stated weekday baseline. Private employers, counties, banks, schools, diplomatic missions and shift rosters may have different schedules.

**Are the Eid dates forecasts?**

Not for the pinned year: 20 March and 27 May 2026 are represented as dates declared or reported from Kenya Gazette notices. Future lunar dates are not extrapolated.
