# Add Global Working Days

## Purpose

Adds or subtracts weekday-baseline working days for any supported CLDR alpha-2 territory code using CLDR weekend rules, without inventing public-holiday defaults.

**Use when:** You need a weekday-based date offset for a territory and explicitly want public holidays excluded from the calculation.

**Do not use when:** A public-holiday, employer, bank, exchange, school, religious or emergency-closure calendar is required.

## Formula

`move one Gregorian day at a time and decrement remaining only when globalWorkingDayStatus(date, territory).is_working_day is true`

The start date is excluded for non-zero offsets. Weekend dates are skipped; public holidays are not inferred or skipped.

## Limitations

A public-holiday, employer, bank, exchange, school, religious or emergency-closure calendar is required. The start date is excluded for non-zero offsets. Weekend dates are skipped; public holidays are not inferred or skipped. All values are computed from the formula above; no measurement or live data is involved.

## FAQ

**Does the start date count?**

No for non-zero offsets; zero returns the start date unchanged.

**Are public holidays skipped?**

This is a global weekday baseline, not a public-holiday, bank-settlement, exchange, school, employer, religious or emergency-closure calendar. Use a jurisdiction-specific evidence package when holiday exclusions matter.
